2 cups whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 tsp all purpose flour
3 tsp. Healthy Solutions Shrimp Scampi spice blend
1 stick unsalted butter
1 medium onion, diced
1 medium potato, diced
2 cans chopped clams, saving the juice from one can
Sauté onion on low to medium heat in 1 tbsp. butter until translucent. In a large pot, combine spice blend with onions, potato, cream, milk, and remaining butter. Heat on low, stirring often, for 30-40 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Stir in clams. Simmer on low heat for approximately 30 minutes. Mix flour together with remaining clam juice until dissolved. Add flour mixture to chowder to thicken. Continue to simmer on low heat for an additional 15 minutes. Serve.
Notes: If you prefer a thinner chowder, skip the flour.
